Year 9 - 10 Curriculum

At the end of Year 8 each boy is asked to make a few choices from among the elective subjects offered in Years 9 and 10, to be taken together with the core of compulsory subjects taken by all students during these years.

 

Core Course

At present the Core Course in Years 9 and 10 comprises the following subjects which are taken by all students for both years:

Religious Education
English
Science
Health & Physical Education
Maths
Study of Society and Environment (including seperate units in History and Geography)

 

Additional units

Additional units are selected from those offered across the remaining Key Learning Areas, according to students' interests. Units offered include:

Art 
Business Education
Music
Design & Technology
Drama
History or Geography (a student may taken a second SOSE subject)
Japanese
Information & Communication Technology
Graphics
Recreation Studies
