The boys in Years 5-12 compete in the AIC competition. In 2013, Padua fielded a total of 28 rugby teams, involving over 470 boys.
Preparation for the season begins mid-way through Term 1 and even earlier for the First XV squad. The majority of coaches are Padua teachers and Old Boys, while some speciality coaches are outsourced. All coaches of 'A' teams are level 2 qualified.
Both CIC and AIC games are played on Saturdays, with home matches played at the Banyo playing fields. The rugby uniform consists of the brown and gold 'bumble-bee' jersey, white Canterbury rugby shorts, brown and gold striped rugby socks, rugby boots and a mouthguard is compulsory. Headgear and shoulder pads are optional extras.
The annual Rugby clinic runs during the Easter school holidays for all rugby players. The pre-season program also involves a three day junior development camp for selected Years 7 and 8 boys, a five day First XV camp, and national and international rugby tours.
During the season, further information including training times, team lists, coaching staff, schedules and results is available via the tabs above or through SharePoint.
