Swimming sessions are offered to members of Padua College Years 5-12 and the general public (through membership of the Padua College Amateur Swimming Club).
Training is offered throughout most of the year in the College’s eight lane heated pool. The Head Coach, Mr David Barnes, oversees the preparation of all boys for AIC/BSA/QSA meets.
The AIC Swimming season run from early November to early March. Training is an essential aspect of the preparation for AIC championships and boys seeking to represent the College are expected to train at the College at least four to five times per week. Boys aiming to earn selection in an individual event should be completing as many sessions per week as possible. Please click here to view our AIC Swimming Program 2017. This document contains all information relating to AIC Swimming 2017 including Training, Meets, Selection Procedure, Padua Coaches, Swim Timetable and AIC Calendar.
The swimming program operates out of the College pool on the Assisi Campus (Secondary). Sessions are offered Monday-Thursday 6:00am-7:30am and Monday-Thursday afternoons 3:20-4:45pm.
Selection criteria for both the AIC teams are based around commitment to the team and training, attitude, behaviour and attendance at training and lead-up carnivals, racing results and other factors observed by the coaching staff.
The Padua College Swimming program endeavours to recognise the efforts of all boys who demonstrate high levels of commitment to training, attend lead-up carnivals and perform to the best of their ability at the Inter-house carnival. Accordingly, boys who fulfil this criteria will be named as reserves for their relevant team.
