Padua College offers many opportunities for students to participate in a variety of co-curricular activities. Debating is one of our most valued cultural activities as it fosters critical thinking, communication and team work. Over the years Padua has nominated teams in the Queensland Debating Union Secondary Schools Competition. The QDU Competition commenced in Term 1 and will continue into Term 3 for those teams fortunate enough to make the finals.
Debating, Public Speaking and Chess are important social actitivies on Greccio Campus. This allows the boys to enjoy friendly competition without the pressure of formal competition. Each year the Year 7 boys participate in the Brisbane Independent Schools Debating, the Year 6 boys have the opportunity to hone their Public Speaking skills and the Year 5 Chess players can engage worthy opoponents in a game that develops many skills such as abstract reasoning, concentration and critical thinking. Padua has always had a strong tradition of fostering musical talent. This begins on Greccio Campus where the boys are encouraged to participate in various musical endeavours.
The Assisi Vocal Ensemble plays an important part in many of our school assemblies and community events. Both ensembles participate in the Queensland Youth Music Awards.
The Liturgical Ensemble is a very special part of life at Padua. They have an integral role in the House liturgies.
